In June, the TEK online magazine published an article about Finnos, interviewing CEO Jere Heikkinen, who was recently named Young Researcher Entrepreneur of the Year 2019. The KAUTE Foundation grants the recognition to a researcher who successfully uses research in their business.
The operation of Finnos equipment is based on laser and X-ray imaging of logs, which extracts a great deal of essential information from the logs, making it possible to improve the efficiency of the sawmills' process. Raw material use becomes more efficient and losses decrease with Finnos equipment. "Our products raise the sawmill's recovery rate by several percent. The sawmill can manufacture products in a way that was not possible before," Heikkinen says.
