Metsä Group's Viesti magazine describes how the new-generation X-ray and 3D scanning systems supplied by Finnos are improving the raw material recovery rate at Metsä Fibre's sawmills.
During 2018 the new scanning systems will be installed at Metsä Fibre's pine sawmills, and during the following year at the spruce sawmills. The new technology is expected to bring the sawmills' scanning processes greater reliability in sawn timber deliveries, more accurate log sorting and better control over the whole process, and ultimately clear financial benefit.
